“Before working with Hether I hadn’t been in a gym in years. I knew I wanted to learn how to work with free weights, get stronger, and feel confident enough to work out on my own one day. Hether took into account my goals, concerns (chronic health issues, hypermobile joints), and current fitness level to put together sessions for me that felt doable yet challenging. It was a relief to also know someone was ensuring I performed the exercises safely!
Her style is positive, encouraging, and completely free of diet culture. Every session flies by and I genuinely look forward to them. It’s been exciting to see progress and I’ve felt comfortable completing a few work outs on my own as well. She’s supportive of when I need a break, adjustment, or change due to my chronic illness which is unfortunately rare in the fitness industry.

“When I first decided to try yoga, it took a long time to build up the courage to attend my first class. Finally I messaged Hether and asked if beginners were welcome in the class she was teaching that weekend. She replied, “First time yogis are my favorite!” I went, and though I felt a little (okay, a lot!) like a fish out of water, I really enjoyed the experience. Hether’s energy was so welcoming, calming, and empowering, I almost forgot I didn’t know what I was doing! As my practice has progressed, I am much more comfortable in class, and frankly in my body. A lot of these feelings are directly related to being in class with Hether. Her cues and instruction are on point, always. I got so comfortable in her classes that it gave me courage to attend with other teachers too, and Hether’s instruction even follows me there. Every pose isn’t the same for every body, and I have learned to modify shapes to what works for me, in my body, thanks to Hether’s teaching. Oh, and she has the dopest playlists ever. “Before becoming a 1:1 virtual client of Hether’s, I was in such a rut with movement. Hether helped me believe in myself again and built up my confidence so I could get back into the gym. She is super knowledgable and constructed workouts that challenged me just the right amount. She struck a really healthy balance of promoting intuitive movement while also encouraging me to do more than I felt capable of. She offered support even outside of sessions and gave me the accountability I needed to succeed.
